Winner of the Silver Bear for best director at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival and Israel?s official nomination for the Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars, director Joseph Cedar employs an effective minimalist style to his intense, subtle study of war based on the celebrated novel by Leshem.
