Best Friends Forever?

That’s what Mikuan and Shaniss are. Friends since childhood, growing up in Quebec’s Innu community, both nevertheless live a very different life. Mikuan has a loving, supportive family, while Shaniss carries the baggage of a tough childhood. Will Mikuan’s love for a white boy alienate her completely once and for all from everything with which she grew up? Will the friendship fade in light of the very different futures for which our protagonists dream? Sensitive and deep, the film spotlights indigenous community, but explores universal themes of love, friendship, community, and the bonds that bind us.– Shwetha VR
