My Internship In Canada

Running time: 108 mins

Academy Award-nominated director Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar) packs laughs in this vibrant political satire. A crowd-pleasing comedy with razor-sharp writing finds independent Parliament member Steve Guibord, who, through a twist of fate, must cast the deciding vote on whether or not Canada will enter a war. Unfortunately, Steve is not the best at his job. But salvation arrives in the form of a Hatian intern who knows more about the ins and outs of the system than his new boss. Still, there are those with their own agenda who will do all they can to prevent Steve's vote. Refreshing and sweet, Falardeau's latest film delivers laughs while asking: Is it better to make the right decision for the wrong reasons, or to make the wrong decision for the right ones? - Michael Rabehl
