Antoine et Marie

One night, beyond memory, stole away the life she knew. Marie works in the office of an auto repair shop. She enjoys the camaraderie of her (male) coworkers, and enjoys stepping out with them after work now and then. Although she fancies the occasional flirtation, she is faithful to her boyfriend Richard, with whom she lives comfortably on the outskirts of town. Antoine, the boss' son, an angry, gloomy man who keeps to himself, also works at the shop. One day, Marie and Antoine's paths cross unexpectedly, and the encounter irrevocably and tragically alters the course of Marie's life. Writer/director Jimmy Larouche (The Scar, Cinequest 2013) masterfully builds a story packed with tension and emotional resonance, including a brilliant ending that will leave the viewer speechless. - Pia Chamberlain
