Two couples in present day Ljubljana enroll in a dance school for tango, and in the process learn a great deal more - about life, about love, about themselves. Both are happy, long-established couples, secure in their partnerships, but "tango is a horizontal thought expressed in a vertical position," and as they share dancing partners they become friends, affections blur, forgotten feelings are reawakened.
