The owner of Hal's Hardware Store is ready to retire. Teddy, the manager, and Cal, a lifetime employee, are overlooked in the search for a new boss. Feeling entitled to the position, they devise an obscure scheme to take what they think is rightfully theirs. These scatterbrained childhood friends are pushed to their limit, making lethal adjustments for their plan to succeed. Thinking they're in the clear, they soon realize they've made a foolish mistake, which condemns them to the hot seat.
