Unfinished Spaces
Running time: 86 mins
Three brilliant architects reveal a different Cuban revolution.
Fidel Castro not only wanted to revolutionize Cuba's politics, but also its architecture. Taking over a bourgeoisie golf course, Castro and Che Guevara commissioned three visionary architects to build an innovative art school campus.
As construction commenced, the buildings were admired worldwide for their creativity. But political forces and Castro's priorities changed. Students were forced to learn in half completed and decaying classrooms. As the decades passed, Castro realized that an architectural wonder was his to showcase, and once again, the three architects began to realize their unfulfilled dreams Unfinished Spaces reminds us that no matter how one tries to defeat it, true art will live forever.
