Invisible Strings: The Talented Pusker Sisters
Running time: 70 mins
What if the person you love most in the world is also your greatest rival?
Julia and Agnes Pusker are two young violinists. Both are extremely talented, but it is the younger Julia who has the magic, and Agnes knows it. Watching her beloved sister play, Agnes' face reveals a crosscurrent of emotions: love, anxiety, jealousy, joy, and wistful sadness. But most of all, love. But there was a second sister, also named Julia, who died before this Julia's birth. And her presence is still very much felt.
Bringing this story of sisterly love to life with incredible artistry and empathy for its young protagonists, Agnes Sos's impeccable direction and fluid camerawork resulted in the film's winning the Hungarian Film Critics' Award for Best Documentary - a prize richly deserved.
