How I Was Stolen By The Germans
Running time: 140 mins
The beauty of loving someone outweighs the desire for freedom.
A senescent Aleks takes a recently abandoned child to an orphanage, but when she plays with his antiquated flight cap, he imparts his story of a land far away. How I Was Stolen by the Germans details the memoir of director Milos Misa Radivojevic's (Awakening from the Dead, Cinequest 2005 and The Reject, Cinequest 2008) childhood. The majestic portrayal of Aleks' story is painted through the telling of his mother's life. Raised by a German soldier in a Communist household, Aleks learned the importance of satisfying your heart's desires, regardless of the consequences. Sharing his story reminds him of the loneliness of independence and gives way to his rediscovery of loves warmth and strength.
