Adrien Brody leads an all-star cast which includes Marcia Gay Harden, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, and Lucy Liu.

Henry Barthes (Brody) finds himself a substitute at an inner-city public school that is clearly falling apart and where students and teachers alike seem to have zero passion for education. The principal (Harden) is also on the brink of dismissal due to abysmal test scores. But Henry refuses to let his work be in vain and sets out to change the lives of his students, a task which proves incredibly demanding in the face of great adversity.

Director Tony Kaye (American History X) "injects intense visual stylization into the proceedings to frequently arresting effect." His nightmarish depiction of the American educational system has a highly effective and arresting resonance.
