Togetherness Supreme

Running time: 94 mins

Slumdog without the millionaires.

Winner of two African Movie Academy Awards acting awards, as well as nomination for Best Film, Nathan Collett?s debut feature beautifully captures the lives of three youths in East Africa?s largest shantytown. Young artist Kamau hides his identity as the son of a greedy, drunk father who has a habit of kicking people out of their homes. Kamau has developed a relationship with a young nurse named Alice, yet Kamau?s friend Otieno also has his sights set on her. Unfortunately, all three are from different tribes, and when personal becomes political, boiling inter-tribal tensions explode, with Kamau in the middle.

Based on actual events from Evans Kamau?s life, Togetherness Supreme represents a breakthrough in Kenyan cinema through its use of cutting-edge Red One camera technologies to create a colorful portrait of the culture. Top this with a production team of more than 50 youth trainees (of which 15 are pursuing film careers), and the future of African cinema looks brighter than ever.
