Piran - Pirano

Running time: 100 mins

In a town with two names, two men meet again after fifty years, bound together by memories of the past and the woman they both loved.

Antonio has returned to the Slovenian Adriatic seacoast town of Piran (Pirano in Italian), to see once more the house where he lived as a child. There he re-encounters Veljko, a Bosnian soldier who came with Tito?s communist army late in WWII and never left. What happened to them back then changed both their lives forever, yet as they meet now for the first time in 50 years, it is the past they shared and its ghosts that will bring them closure.

Anchored by three wonderful actors, including the radiant Nina Ivanisin (Slovenian Girl, Cinequest 2010) as Anica, the Slovenian woman they both loved, an autumnal golden hue suffuses this rich, beautifully photographed tale of coming to terms with the past and finding peace with oneself.
