Mamma Gogo

Running time: 90 mins

As the shadow of life?s twilight lengthens, another light sometimes appears; as reality fades sometimes ghosts become what?s real.

World renown director Fridrick Thor Fridricksson, whose 1992 ?Children of Nature? received Iceland?s only Oscar nomination ever, presents his most highly autobiographical film, simultaneously funny and compassionate, a moving tribute to his mother. As a struggling film director watches his latest film fail at the box office (it has the same title as Fridricksson?s own Oscar nominated film), his mother, a marvelous, quick-witted woman, starts behaving more and more erratically. He realizes that something much more important than his own or even his country?s economic worries is happening to her and he does all he can to help her manage her new condition.

This beautiful, gently witty and deeply heartfelt film, anchored by actress Kristbjörg Kjeld?s lovely, nuanced and deeply affecting portrayal is a film to experience and cherish ? a cinematic gift for anyone who?s ever had a mother.
