Reeseville

Running time: 99 mins

Everyone in Reeseville knows a bit too much about everyone else's business, and there are things that should just not be public knowledge-deep dark secrets that should have been buried long agoÉwell, someone has tried to bury them, butÉ Haunted by his mother's death, David returns to Reeseville only to be confronted with the suicide of his father. Emotions soar into overdrive when Jason, the town sheriff, arrives. Not a big fan of the prodigal David, Jason succeeds in only escalating David's struggles with his own demons. Enter Zeek (played to perfection by Mark Hamill), the town coroner and amateur sleuth, who notices something amiss: several clues leading to the suspicion that this seemingly obvious suicide could very well be murder. But while the town looks to David as the prime suspect, he has his eyes on Iris-only making matters worse for him. Iris is Jason's sisterÉand you don't want Jason as your enemy. Christopher Otjen, who scored big among Cinequest audiences in 2001 with Lady in the Box, returns with his latest thriller, Reeseville-a "whodunit" that takes a playfully eerie look into the darkest depths of small town life. Featuring Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Majandra Delfino (Roswell), Brad Hunt (Magnolia), Brian Wimmer (Late for Dinner), and Missy Crider (Mulholland Dr.), it isl a tale full of twists and turns that is a lot of fun. - Ellen Carstensen
