Potestad

Running time: 90 mins

Fragmented and distorted, Eduardo's daily reality is a mosaic of events that seem illogical. While riding the subway one Saturday afternoon, Eduardo begins to slip in and out of reality as he recalls the loss of his 10-year-old daughter. Pedestrians, waiters, and strangers become active participants in his dreams, which intertwine and are related to different periods of his life. Is this the portrait of a man on the brink of insanity, or are there darker forces at workÉand for that matter, what do those forces have to do with the loss of Eduardo's daughter? Slowly, through numerous clues, the actual story unfolds, revealing a world that is entirely unpredictable. Adapted directly from lead actor Eduardo Pavl?vsky's stage play, he brings an addled dignity to his passionate performance. Likewise, director Luis Cesar D'Angiolillo's experience as an editor for such greats as Eliseo Subiela and Fernando Solas has clearly given him the insight, the talent, and the vision to create an unforgettable film that transcends boundaries of conventional storytelling. - Al Owens
