Salute documents the epic strength and wholeheartedness of Australian runner Peter Norman and San Jose athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos during the 1968 Mexico Olympics. Each man took part in a historically daring human rights demonstration, heroically protesting for black equality amidst racial discrimination and identifying San Jose as a significant contributor and forerunner in justice during the civil rights movement.

Director Matt Norman?s truly stirring film illustrates the unyielding spirit of each participant despite the extreme injustice each faced thereafter and prompts the continuation of mankind?s dedication to equality. Salute lauds such exemplary courage and offers an insightful ode to three valiant athletes who risked fame, fortune, and personal glory for their personal beliefs.
