Raging Grannies
Running time: 60 mins
Just because you?re a member of the AARP doesn?t mean you have to stop fighting.
In the tune of nursery rhymes and musicals, veteran director Pam Walton (Liberty: 3 Stories About Life and Death, Call to Witness) presents Raging Grannies, a group who uses quirky street theater to protest causes dear to them. From women?s rights to anti-military recruiting, the antics of these grannies will surely pique your curiosity.
Initiated to protest the use of nuclear submarines in 1987, the Raging Grannies quickly became a viral spectacle in the media. Thanks to their non-threatening appearance and outrageous costume, the women in this group have progressed myriad social issues that it seemed no ordinary group could.
Even though they dress in spectacular hats and eye-catching attire, this is?at heart?an organization of women with a mission, using the street as their stage to fight for what they believe in.
