Dancers
Running time: 90 mins
Sometimes, the most difficult moves to master are outside the ballroom.
Safely confined to her dance academy, Annika's life is about to take a turn into the unpredictable. She meets Lasse, a timid electrician, when he comes to fix a blown fuse in her studio, and their attraction is immediate. At first reluctant, Lasse asks her out on a date, but only after telling her that he spent a year in prison for fraud. Their relationship grows closer until a phone call exposes more about Lasse's past than he was willing to reveal. As concerns from her friends and her own conflicting emotions come to the surface, Annika discovers that balance is more elusive in one's personal life than on the dance floor.
Featuring splendid performances by Trine Dyrholm and Anders Berthelsen, both veterans of the Swedish Dogme movement, Dancers powerfully blends suspense and poignancy in a study of dark secrets, tentative love, and second chances.
