A young woman has nothing to lose, and everything to learn.

Gao Yuanyuan (Shanghai Dreams, Beijing Bicycle) stars as a young woman dying from a brain tumor; and who unexpectedly discovers that her brother-in-law ? someone she has loved and trusted since she was a little girl ? may have murdered her parents. In a desperate, yet calculating move, she kidnaps and tortures him to try to learn the truth before she dies.

On the surface, the characters and their lives appear to be normal. However, gradually and deliberately, we learn that beneath their everyday exteriors lie as many twists and turns as the plot and as many surprises as the explosive ending. An acting tour-de-force by Gao Yuanyuan, Xu Zheng and Tao Hong, and an assured cinematic achievement by director Cheng Er.
