Still coping from his mother?s untimely death, Carl and his family are trying to live a normal suburban life, taking it one step at a time. But normalcy is a lost luxury when substitute teacher Ulla descends upon Carl?s sixth grade class, subjecting the students to her malicious remarks and mind-reading techniques. With suspicions about Ulla?s odd, paranormal behavior, the students are left to take matters into their own hands when the adults don?t believe them. Ulla has other plans, however, and the class field trip is going to be one hell of a night.

Like a Grimm?s fairy tale come to life, The Substitute is a hilariously sinister and touching story affirming that the words of our children should not always be dismissed, and as a reminder: what doesn?t kill you...might just make you stronger.
