Dear Zachary: a letter to a son about his father

Running time: 95 mins

A true love story about murder, friendship, betrayal and family

Dr. Andrew Bagby, raised in Silicon Valley, was murdered by Dr. Shirley Turner, the mother of his unborn child. Bagby?s childhood friend, filmmaker and Cinequest alum Kurt Kuenne (Scrapbook, Drive-in Movie Memories), initially intended to make this film for Bagby?s son, Zachary, as a way he could get to know his father. But when Turner flees to Newfoundland to escape her arrest for murder, the film and Kuenne take a new direction.

Meanwhile, Bagby?s parents embark on a new life in the harsh Canadian environment to be closer to their grandson. With no connections, other than Zachary?s psychotic mother, it appears that they just might prevail over almost insurmountable legal hurdles. But then something unimaginable happens.

A truly unforgettable story, Kuenne?s personal eulogy is an ode to the horrors of the human mind and the spirit of love.
