Born Without

Running time: 86 mins

One man, two missing limbs? a fascinating story of adaptation in a world fueled by the status quo.

Winner of the Jury Prize at the 2007 Mexico City Film Festival, veteran director Eva Norvind (whose daughter completed the film after her death in 2006) pays loving tribute to the strength of the human spirit and our ability to overcome any odds.

Jose Flores was born without arms, but has developed the uncanny ability to adapt to the world just as he was brought into it. Armless, Flores modifies the use of utensils and instruments, using his feet to keep a beat on the percussion while blowing into a harmonica secured to his neck. Some might say he?s unique, but Flores manages to create a normal and content life for himself when onlookers never imagined he could. A loving wife and seven children represent that accomplishment, not to mention his reputation as a ?ladies man,? which many wouldn?t imagine until they see the confidence twinkling from his aura.
