Superheroes

Running time: 84 mins

Tackling a painful subject with sensitivity and taste, Superheroes scars and heals.

Ben (Dash Mihok, The Thin Red Line) has recently returned from military duty in Iraq, and with plenty of shrapnel in his body, has physical as well as emotional scars to deal with. During one of his therapy sessions with other troubled veterans, he meets Nick (Spencer Treat Clark, Mystic River), an aspiring young filmmaker who is working on a new project. The quietly anguished Ben is the polar opposite of talky, sensitive Nick. A friendship blossoms as Nick, with his camera by his side, joins Ben for a stay at an isolated country home. Can their bond survive the problems, past and present, that surface over the course of their time together? Tense, superbly acted, and sure to spark discussion, Alan Brown?s Superheroes is a rare film that speaks to both the mind and the heart.
