Side Effects

Running time: 99 mins

America! Built on a better pill.

Karly Hert has spent the last ten years selling drugs?legally, that is. She works for America?s pharmaceutical industry, and although conflicted on a daily basis by the industry?s values, Karly has been seduced by the golden handcuffs of corporate America.

Enter Zach, a salt of the earth kind of guy who challenges Karly?s entire value system. Inspired by Zach and their budding relationship, Karly devises a plan to incorporate her values into her work, by being genuine and brutally honest as she consults on her company?s latest and greatest drugs?something not in the company handbook. Yet, irony has a way of rearing its ugly head. Karly?s sales numbers skyrocket, turning her into the company?s rising star, and the corporate and material abyss once again beckons. Just another day for the modern working woman. Well, sort of.

Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau?s Side Effects is a sly satire on corporate America and the drug industry?an industry filled with endless questionable scruples. Katherine Heigl (Roswell, Grey?s Anatomy) shines as the lead, giving a performance both funny and poignant. A timely comedy for today?s madcap world.
