Instant Love

Running time: 78 mins

Power of human connection.

This tender film depicts the unlikely friendship that forms between eight-year-old Cody (Lucas Jaye, Fuller House) and the eighty-year-old Korean war veteran Del (Golden Globe and Tony Award-winner Brian Dennehy) who happens to be the neighbor at his aunt's place where Cody has come with his mother Kathy (Hong Chau, Watchmen) to clean out the place after the estranged aunt's death. In Del, lonely Cody finds a warm friend, maybe even a father figure, while the war veteran struggles with past demons and seeks some form of redemption. There are various angles to this film and big lessons in small moments, but what wins the day, and the viewers’ hearts is the biggest takeaway: the spirit of kindness and humanity.– Shwetha VR
