Asking for It

Running time: 84 mins

Stalk me if you can!

Young writer Jenny (Stephanie Hsu, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Path) and her new roommate (Irene Morales, Labor Days) have to take matters into their own hands to investigate the internet stalker who, while trying to sabotage Jenny’s writing career, inadvertently ends up getting her writing noticed by Cheryl (Janeane Garofalo, SNL, Wet Hot American Summer), the clueless boss who is always demanding a new “top-ten” list to post. The cop (David Krumholtz, The Deuce) just dismisses the harassment, leaving the duo to put on their detective hats to try to catch the guy who knows everything about Jenny. Asking for It handles a dark topic with cleverness and laughs, as we follow the exploits of the amateur dynamic duo; one can stalk, but how long can they hide?– Kelly A. Harrison
