AnnaSophia Robb, 17-year-old acting sensation, began her burgeoning career by being scouted out of her Denver, CO agency at the age of nine. Shortly thereafter she had her breakout role as Opal in Because of Winn-Dixie, starring opposite Jeff Daniels. Shortly after, things snowballed for AnnaSophia, launching her into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the selfish, gum-hoarding Violet Beauregarde acting opposite Johnny Depp; as the alien Sara in Race to Witch Mountain, as the young Leslie in Bridge to Terabithia and now in Soul Surfer, Cinequest?s closing night film, based on the life of Bethany Hamilton.

Being involved in gymnastics, dancing, swimming, skiing and running, AnnaSophia not only primed herself for her promising career but she unknowingly set herself up to be the perfect actress to portray Bethany in director Sean McNamara?s inspirational film. Like Bethany, AnnaSophia knew what she wanted from a young age and pursued it full force, displaying talent, skill and passion in every activity on her roster. While the beginning of her career is so promising,it?s sure her Maverick spirit will continue to thrive in whatever she sets her mind to.
