Special Screening of Real Women Have Curves plus An Evening with Lupe Ontiveros: Passion from Within, moderated by Kathryn Galan. In response to the continued interest in Latino cinema, Cinequest is delighted to present our 9th annual Latino Celebration. This year's event features a special presentation of Real Women Have Curves, the clever and heartwarming art-house hit that took movie lovers by storm this fall. Lupe Ontiveros, the film's star and prolific Latina actress (see page 9), will be our honored guest at a post-screening reception, which will feature a moderated discussion with Kathryn Galan, Executive Director of NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers). The Latino Celebration will take place Wednesday, March 5th and will begin with a screening of Real Women Have Curves at 7PM at Camera One Cinema (366 S. 1st Street, San Jose). Tickets are just $10, which includes the screening and admission to an exclusive reception after the film, which will take place at the Mexican Heritage Plaza (1700 Alum Rock Avenue, San Jose).
