The seven days and nights of Cinequest will be filled with countless opportunities to experience the finest in international cinema. You'll have a chance to meet some of the legends of film: Robert Wise, Michael Radford, Gus Van Sant, Luis Valdez, and Neil Jordan. You'll have an opportunity to enjoy great parties such as the Opening Night sneak preview into the United Artists Pavilion Complex, the Latino Celebration catered by Una Mas, and the After Hours Event at South First Billiards. You will have the chance to hear some of the most evocative women in film discuss the state of affairs in the film industry during our Symposium on Independent Women. You'll see dramatic, comic, and impossible to define features and shorts from around the world. You'll have a chance to talk to the folks who made these films. You'll relax and chat with your fellow film-goers and bask in the glory that is movie-land.
You might think you'll just catch a film or two, but then find out there so good that you've ended up watching five, ten, twenty? Hey, you might be bleary-eyed by then, but you've got to save something back for the grand finale: With what's in store over the first six days it is fitting that the week of Cinquest VI closes with a bang, and with a bang it does.
As it's closing event film, Cinequest proudly presents Margaret's Museum, Mort Ransen's renowned powerhouse starring Helena Bonham Carter, Clive Russell and Kate Nelligan. The evening's festivities begin with a presentation of the film. Afterwards the filmmaker(s) will join us at Gordon Biersch Restaurant for a catered party that will cap the best yet Cinequest Film Festival.
