Double Dare chronicles the lives of two professional stuntwomen; Jeannie Epper, the other Wonder Woman, and Zoe Bell, Xenaâ??s tougher half.Their jobs entail being set on fire, thrown off buildings, dragged by wild horses and hit by cars. They are stuntwomen. Jeannie Epper, who was Linda Carter's double on the Wonder Woman television series, has appeared in scores of Hollywood films and is the female member of a long-standing and prominent family of stuntpeople. But she is now a grandmother, fighting the lack of roles for women her age and her own physical limitations. Zoe Bell, who was the stunt double for Xena: Warrior Princess, realizes that if she is ever going to succeed in her chosen career, she must move from her native New Zealand to Los Angeles.Both Jeannie and Zoe face the challenges of pursuing a line of work in a field dominated by macho men. When Jeannie meets Zoe, she takes her under her wing, as they both struggle to survive at the opposite end of the spectrum-Jeannie fighting to hold on and Zoe just begging for the chance to show her stuff. Going behind the scenes of film sets and auditions, director Amanda Micheli deftly reveals the daily trials and tribulations of these remarkable "action heroes."
