North American Premiere. Where does acting stop and being start? That's the question following a group of aspiring young actors as they embark on one last weekend getaway before going out into the real world. It will turn out to be a weekend they never forget. Nestled in a lovely country home, the days are filled with swimming, waterskiing, barbecuing - and revealing emotions. Full of hope and enthusiasm for their future careers, the friends at first try to hide their emotional dilemmas and anxieties. Only gradually do they realize that the house is the stage where their personal dramas will be played out. Released in Norway as the first feature in exclusive digital distribution, director John Sullivan's Play is a refreshing and unconventional film about playfulness and playing with fire. Deftly balancing comedy and drama, Play bravely but delicately confronts the characters and their ambitions without neglecting their humanity. Played by an engaging ensemble cast (who also happen to be actual graduates from the National Drama School in Oslo), the film is reminiscent of the captivating tale, The Big Chill. Fernando F.
