Preston Tylk

Running time: N/A

Bay Area Premiere Preston Tylk's first crime is taking his wife for granted. His next crime is murder. In classic, suspense-thriller style, Preston Tylk is a normal guy who, because of extraordinary circumstances, finds himself on a quest to get his life back. When his wife admits that she's been having an affair, Preston leaves the house in a rage--only when he returns, he finds his wife dead in their house. This starts a chain of events that blurs the line between right and wrong, good and bad. Preston is terrorized by his wife's lover, blamed for her murder and hunted by the authorities. The taut script is complemented by strong acting performances from Luke Wilson (Bottle Rocket, Home Fries) and Dennis Farina (Get Shorty), creating a film that brings out the true sense of the word thriller. Written and directed by Jon Bokenkamp, Preston Tylk is the fruition of the indie-filmmaker dream. He made the film with his buddies from college. One of the producers, Roni Eguia, and the composer, Kurt Kuenne (Scrapbook, Cinequest 1999), were friends of Bokencamp's at USC, where all three attended the School of Cinema and Television. They went their separate ways after graduation but came together to collaborate on the film. Eguia remembers reading the short-film script while in class, saying she was intrigued by its dark intelligence. And Bokencamp counts Kuenne as the "closest thing I have to a writing partner."
