Stand Tall

Running time: N/A

It has been two decades since the debut of the hit T.V. show The Incredible Hulk. After nineteen years of retirement from the sport of bodybuilding, Lou Ferrigno returned to compete for the title of "Mr. Olympia" in a competition which has served to honor the best bodybuilders in the world for over three decades, a competition which was popularized by one man who won the "Sandow Trophy" six consecutive times before retiring from the sport to pursue a successful acting career. Perhaps you've heard of Arnold Schwartzenegger? Lou Ferrigno lost 85% of his hearing at the age of two as a result of chronic ear infections. Suffering great blows of childhood ridicule, Lou escaped to the world of bodybuilding as a means to overcome his low self-esteem. Stand Tall depicts how, at 43-years-old, Ferrigno returns from retirement to make his bid for the title of "Mr Olympia", a return which would later be considered the "greatest comeback in the history of bodybuilding". His only apparent obstacle; Boyer Coe, another competitor for the title and a longtime "foe". With appearances by such names as Lonnie Teper, Don Ross and Mike Katz, director Mark Nalley find what he calls a film about the "true life story of 'right and might'", but he truly accomplishes even more, as he has grasped the excitement, energy and expression of the legends of the sport. --Mike Rabehl
