Patrick is a reclusive and somewhat strange nerd who has always driven his younger sibling Marilyn a little crazy. When she shows up for a visit at his house in the woods with a small surprise in tow, namely her fiancé Ryan, Patrick freaks out and tries everything to undermine the relationship. When his snide remarks and bad behavior fail to quash the romance, he sets out, ineptly and hilariously, to murder Ryan--but fate has something else in store.
In the sardonically droll spirit of Hitchcock?s The Trouble with Harry, A Dog?s Breakfast turns the conventions of the murder mystery upside down, with sidesplitting results. First-time director and star David Hewlett (SciFi channel?s Stargate Atlantis) infuses Patrick with just the right combination of quirkiness, paranoia, and dread to create a character who seems way over the edge, but all to believable at the same time.
