Strange things happen when a widow on vacation is accidentally hit in the head by a flying manhole cover. In Sergio Golenberg?s delightful romp, the accident leads to a fortuitous meeting between two middle aged old friends, who haven?t seen each other in years. The victim of the flying cover, out on her own for the first time since the death of her husband, is looking for a new, more exciting life. Her classmate owns a beauty shop, and shares his home and affections with his much younger maid, the sexy and alluring Maria.

As she recovers from her injury, the widow is wined and dined by her old friend, who feels an odd attraction to someone who can relate to his mid-life crisis concerns. A game of seduction ensues, with hidden passions and desires coming to the fore. Maria senses that more than a renewed friendship has developed between the two old buddies and is threatened by this person who is turning out to be much more than a mere acquaintance.

In the meantime, Maria?s son comes to town with his gorgeous TV star boyfriend. The boyfriend is a sex symbol, who must maintain his macho lady killer image. This leads to laughs, tears and confusion, much to Maria?s consternation. Maria?s Place is a romantic and fanciful journey into the lives of some very entertaining characters, all of whom are searching to discover both who they truly are, and who they truly love.
