Among the dwellers is the singing and very pregnant Maria, expecting her second child with shiftless Erik, who?s more interested in money and other women. Gunvor, Maria?s mother-in-law and a notorious local shoplifter, gets thrown out of the vegetable store run by eccentric Jesus, and sells pills for young Elin, who works as Maria?s babysitter.
