Running time: 98 mins

Llamas, zebras, elephants, Brezhnev, Gandhi, and Liz Taylor, oh, my!

The Barefoot Emperor is a dramedy, an absurd political satire about total European dissolution. Upon hearing the news of his kingdom's collapse, Belgian King Nicolas III tries to return home but is accidentally shot in Sarajevo. Although his injuries are minor, Dr. Kroll, who runs a quirky sanatorium on a Croatian island, insists that the king stay there under his strict vigil, cut off from any outside communication. Eventually, Dr. Kroll announces the formation of Nova Europa and that Belgian King is named as the first emperor of the new regime. But King Nicolas and his ensemble team have other plans. All they want to do is get off the island and be free. Get on this crazy journey, you never know where you will end up, but you will love it! – Pratibha Kelapure
