The Twinning Reaction
Running time: 54 mins
Separated in infancy, linked together through kinship. The Twinning Reaction examines the human costs of an infamous research project: the 1960s Neubauer-Bernard study of separated twins. In the nature v. nurture study, twins were separated in infancy by an adoption agency, then tested for multiple years by psychiatrists from a New York research facility. Shockingly, the adoptive parents of these twins were never told their baby had an other living in the same metropolitan area -- some just a few miles away. Lori Shinsekis documentary tells the story of four sets of identical twins and triplets whose lives were deeply affected by the secret separations and deception.
