What lasts longer - art, or the relationship that inspired it? David invites Sarah to his summer lake house to help finish his play. But Sarah has her own ideas about its subject: their decades-long, tumultuous love affair, and despite the peaceful solitude, both are thrown into re-examining the multitude of eras they've survived together. All the Beauty is an intimate and acute anatomy of a complicated relationship. With the couple played by eight actors at the different stages of their lives, we are swept along, like surfing the waves in time, from one period to the next, to witness the highs and lows, the passion and insanity, the joy and pain of their union.
