Running time: 98 mins
Some secrets don't always stay buried.
Dawn Cowley (Emily Seymour) is 18, poor and living in rural New Hampshire, working a lackluster job at a bait shop during the day and turning tricks at night. Dawn and her mom Gail (Dakota Benedetto), along with Gail's boyfriend Billy Corbett (Seth Chatfield) live together and bicker constantly. Dawn dreams for a different life, a better life: an identity. One day after a heated argument, Dawn skips town in search of her father with only his name and a backpack. The road she is about to travel will change the rest of her life and everything she used to know.
Aaron Wiederspahn's engaging film, shot in only 10 days and in 25 locations, captures the innocence of youth, the desire to know one's lineage, and the pain it can cause to know the truth. - Terra Wood-Taylor
