Smart-mouth writer Deena (Bosworth) and her retro-best-friend roommate Kim's (Ritter) scenester way of life is uprooted when, following a one-night stand, Kim gets pregnant and must accessorize her happy-go-lucky lifestyle with a baby. Unprepared in every way, Kim finds herself juggling a nowhere job, dating, and motherhood. And although she has help from Deena and their third roommate Laura (Bilson), it seems Kim's best is never enough for this modern girl.

Co-written by Coiro and Ritter, L!fe Happens refreshingly captures a female-centric world foreign to most films—a world less interested in the romantic foibles of its protagonists and more on their inner lives, their friendships and their real tribulations.
