Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet
Running time: 88 mins
"A new assault on the sound barrier."
If innate talent weren't enough already, Jason Becker ate, slept, and drove with a guitar in hand. This is how the virtuoso was born. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Eddie Van Halen, Becker's obsession with music led to the rise of shred guitar in the late 1980s. Despite being a senior in high school, he impressed iconic musicians with his adept understanding of the foundations and backbone of musical composition. Yet with so much promise and only five years into his career, at age 20, his diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease came as the biggest shock of them all. Yet genius isn't handicapped; one just finds another way to express it. Will the man who innovated heavy metal stop when the music ends?
