Armed with a sharp tongue, Deb Dorfman (Sara Rue, Pearl Harbor) is too comfortable in her beige life. Deb is surrounded by narcissists who genuinely believe the world revolves around them, enabling her subservience. Her father, Burt, (Elliot Gould, Ocean's 11-13) still wallows in self-pity a year after his wife's passing. Her brother and boss (Jonathan Chase, Eagle Eye) delivers empty promises to Deb while her crush Jay (Johann Urb, Sasha in 2012) abuses her unrequited love. But when offered to live outside her comfort zone, Deb's life explodes with color. Dorfman brings to light the outstanding nature of self-respect as the new, radiant Deb realizes she hasn't given herself the credit she deserves.
