The Little Room

Running time: 87 mins

A battle of wills between an unusual nurse and her crusty old patient results in an unpredictable outcome.

In Switzerland?s official entry to the Oscars for Best Foreign Film, directors Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond offer a tale about Rose and Edmond: The former, a homecare nurse with some unorthodox methods, and the latter, a crusty old man determined to fight for his independence. Undeterred, Rose, in her quiet and unassuming way, proves just as stubborn as Edmond.

When his uninvolved son decides that Edmond would be better off in a nursing home, Edmond takes matters into his own hands and finally realizes that Rose, who has personal troubles of her own, may actually be able to help him.

As these two lonely people find solace in their friendship, their wounds begin to heal. A poignant story of companionship, redemption and rejuvenation, The Little Room captivates through its sharp direction, thoughtful writing and exceptional performances that will resonate long after you see it.
