The Glass Slipper
Running time: 83 mins
A fairytale without the fairies, a romance without any romance, a Silicon Valley story of life.
Felicity has left her small town home to become Sam?s nanny in the wake of Sam?s parents? messy divorce. Sam?s mother, Maria, is controlling and hyper-critical and her father, Ermir, is a failed venture capitalist with a penchant for gambling, an addiction to his iPhone and a tendency to search for love and affection in all the wrong places. Ermir has moved into a seedy motel where he desperately tries to grow his business and lure in women, all under a misguided attempt to find enlightenment - and himself - in the process. When the pious Felicity tries to acknowledge Ermir?s half-hearted attempts at goodness, everything implodes for the entire family.
The Glass Slipper spares no detail in its realistic portrayal of a crumbling modern family, and one has to wonder if this family couldn?t be living right down the street.
