Human longing is at once vicious and elegant.

The romanticism of Mozart, the elegant idealism of Kierkegard and the harsh, viper-toothed needs of the human heart are pitted against each other in this intensely beautiful, poignant and shocking film. Amidst the overcast backdrop of one of Sweden?s inner cities, 20-year-old Katarina finds freedom from her mother?s lackluster, alcoholic lifestyle in her new job as secretary at a concert hall. Shortly after Katarina's arrival, the conductor of the orchestra begins showing her special attention, awakening her to the romantic possibilities of life to be found in music and philosophy. This budding air of romanticism turns stark when Katrina is once again thrown into a confrontation with the harsh realities of life, leading to her desperate struggle for purpose, dignity and the means to survive.

At turns, beautiful, sad and sexy, director Lisa Langseth?s evocative tale will leave you with a heightened sense of what it means to be a human being longing for something more.
