Among Us

Among Us

Running time: 94 mins

Reality is cold, that is why we so desperately need human warmth.

Michael Nvqvist (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and Izabella Scorupco (Golden Eye) star in this exceptional Swedish film, which begins with frigid realism and ends with the incredible. A tragedy forces a married couple, no longer young, to consider the nature of their loss. Ernst, the husband, struggles with a world that may be essentially meaningless, while Cecilia, his wife, refuses to accept that their loss had no greater significance. An unforgettable stranger interposes himself, and the rest must be seen to be believed.

Writer/Director Johan Brisinger?s carefully paced and subtle family drama focuses on the grief of parents but this really serves as the foundation for a larger exploration of what people need from each other when a mysterious interloper enters the picture. Brilliant performances refuse to rely on standard plot points or conventional responses.
