Attempting to cope with their hopelessness and confusion, they are certain the solution to their problems lies abroad, somewhere beyond their countries? borders. Switching between Chile, Bolivia and Costa Rica, this film weaves together a tale of magical amulets and UFOs with a search for love and hope for a better future. Filled with humor and irony, Tercer Mundo brings together local myths, social reality and science fiction elements to tell three stories that develop under a single Latin American sky.
