Oysters at Nam Kee's

Running time: 97 mins

Berry, holed up in a snowy country home and surrounded by policemen, gets ready to blast his way out. Only five months earlier, he had been just another rich high school dropout roaming the mean streets of Amsterdam, getting his kicks from staging fake robberies, and hopping from nightclub to nightclub. That was before he met Thera, the impulsive, gorgeous model who turns his world upside down. Intoxicated with each other, the two live it up with wild, sex-filled nights in expensive hotels and make plans to travel the world. As suddenly as she started it, however, Thera wants to end their relationship. But Berry will not let her go that easily. Oysters at Nam Kee's is a slick, sexy, modern thriller that reaches back to the glory days of amour fou while retaining a tartness of its own. First-time director Pollo de Pimentel keeps the action moving and the performances sizzling. Fernando F. Croce
