The Bingo Robbers

Running time: 83 mins

There's a little criminal inside us all. Meet an oddball cast of characters, led by Vallis and Nancy, two petty thieves whose main source of income is borrowed money and whose main occupation is armed robbery. Vallis lives the real rock 'n' roll lifestyle and makes his '76 Chrysler his home. His need for quick cash has him scheduling break-in after break-in to support his habits of driving Nancy around the city and stalking his high school crush. Nancy, on the other hand, has a grander plan for the two of them, although she is often diverted by Vallis' and her constant bickering and her ex-husband's demands to receive payment for babysitting his own daughter. Tonight is Vallis and Nancy's fateful night--a night whose events will lead the dynamic duo on a slew of repeated attempts to score quick cash. Unfortunately, their relentless analysis of each other will keep getting in the way. Too bad that tonight is perhaps the perfect night to hit the biggest mark of their "career"--the 24-Hour All-Night Bingo Extravaganza--a heist that could change their entire life, if executed with some amount of professionalism. In the vein of the classic screwball comedy, The Bingo Robbers is, in a word, nutty. Perfectly marrying the strength of creative storytelling and the freedom that new digital technologies allow filmmakers, Lois Brown and Barry Newhook's tale is an offbeat and energetic ride.
